Privacy policy

In force from 1 October 2026

This policy explains what happens to the information you send through this website. It applies to visitors in the United Kingdom and in the European Union, and is written to meet both UK GDPR and EU GDPR.

Who is responsible for your information

The data controller is Princes Electronics of 23 Haverford Way, Edgware, Middlesex, HA8 6DJ, company number 07396672.

For anything in this policy, including any of the requests described under "Your rights", write to [email protected].

What we collect

When you send an enquiry, we collect only what we need in order to reply with a price:

  • your name, phone number and email address
  • the postcode you want the appliance delivered to
  • the appliances you asked about — the link or model number you sent, and any note you added
  • a record that you ticked the consent box, and when
  • context about the enquiry itself: which brands you opened, the page you arrived on, and how long the form took to complete

We do not ask for your full address, your date of birth, or any payment details, and there is no marketing sign-up. If you accept a quote, we will ask for a delivery address by email at that point.

Why we collect it, and our lawful basis

We use your information for two things, and nothing else:

  • To answer your enquiry. Our lawful basis is your consent, which you give by ticking the box before you send the form, together with the steps you have asked us to take before entering into a contract.
  • To keep the form working and free of abuse. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in a form that reaches us and is not flooded with automated submissions.

We will not use your details to market anything to you, and we will not sell, rent or share them with anyone for their own purposes.

Who else handles it

A small number of service providers process this information on our behalf, and only on our instructions:

  • Web3Forms, which takes the completed form from your browser and delivers it to us as an email.
  • postcodes.io, which we ask to confirm the town a UK postcode belongs to, so you can see you typed it correctly. Only the postcode is sent — never your name, contact details or enquiry — and no street address is looked up or stored.
  • our email and website hosting providers, which necessarily handle the message once it reaches us.

If you choose to send your enquiry to us on WhatsApp instead of through the form, that message is handled by WhatsApp under their own terms rather than ours.

postcodes.io is operated in the United Kingdom, so no transfer takes place there. Our form delivery, hosting and email providers may process information outside the United Kingdom. Where they do, we rely on the transfer safeguards set out in that provider's own data processing terms — for most providers, the UK International Data Transfer Addendum to the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.

Where it is kept, and for how long

An enquiry you have started but not sent is held in your own browser so that you can come back to it. It is discarded 30 days after you last touched it, or as soon as it has been sent, and you can clear it at any time with "Start again" on the enquiry page. It is never sent anywhere until you press send.

If an enquiry cannot be delivered — because you are offline, or the service is down — it stays in your browser and we try again the next time you open the page, so that it is not lost. It is removed as soon as it goes through, and in any case after 30 days.

Once an enquiry reaches us it is held in our email system for 18 months from our last contact with you, after which it is deleted. If your enquiry becomes an order, the records that go with that order are kept for as long as tax and consumer law require.

Cookies

This site sets no cookies. It uses no advertising tags, no social media tags and no cross-site tracking of any kind, which is why you have not been asked to accept anything. The enquiry you are part-way through is stored in your browser's local storage rather than in a cookie, is readable only by this site, and is never sent to us until you press send.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR and EU GDPR you have the right to:

  • ask for a copy of the information we hold about you
  • ask us to correct anything that is wrong
  • ask us to delete it
  • ask us to restrict what we do with it, or object to us using it
  • ask us to send it to you, or to someone else, in a portable form
  • withdraw your consent at any time, which stops us using it from that point on

Write to [email protected] and we will respond within one month. There is no charge.

If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk. If you are in the European Union, you can complain to the supervisory authority in the country where you live or work.

Changes to this policy

If we change how the site handles your information, we will update this page and the date at the top of it. The version in force is always the one published here.
